Joel Webbon is responsible for leading the Response by faithfully teaching through books of the Bible and casting vision. He is also very passionate about developing leaders as well as creating strategic systems for the advancement of the gospel. His wife Megan helps to compliment him in this calling by providing a women’s perspective as well as leading and discipling many of our women.
1. What do you do for fun?
I love almost anything that has to do with strategy. I am an an avid board game enthusiast, especially games like Settlers of Catan. However, I must warn you that I’ve been known to be pretty competitive.
2. What is something that most people don’t know about you?
When I was a kid, before feeling a call towards vocational ministry, I wanted to be a veterinarian or zoologist or anything that had to do with animals. I still surprise my wife Megan with some of my random animal facts.
3. What are three books that everyone should read?
The Reason for God by Timothy Keller, The Gospel Centered Life by Robert Thune, and Suffering and the Sovereignty of God edited by John Piper and Justin Taylor.
4. What excites you about The Response Church?
The community at the The Response Church is incredibly close. They have purchased cars for each other, covered each other’s rent, and provided jobs for one another. Every day I see them laying down their lives for one another in beautiful ways like Jesus.
