Zack and Taylor Gilman are responsible for overseeing the children’s ministry. Their hope is, by God’s grace, to encourage and support families in their commitment to growing in community through the knowledge and application of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. They and their team of member-volunteers work toward this goal by providing an intentionally gospel-centered, safe, and fun environment for children, freeing up parents to worship corporately in the church service, trusting their children are being properly cared for and discipled.
Zack: I love spending time with my wife and the many incredible friends the Lord has blessed me with. I’d prefer to talk about the Lord, His Gospel, and His mission with some good food over most things. Add in the setting of the beach or a hike, and I could not ask for more!
Taylor: I love building relationships with the women in our church by having genuine and honest conversations that, by God’s grace, lead to deeper affections for Jesus. I also LOVE kids. I nanny full-time and can’t think of a better way to spend my work weeks. Besides that, I’m always down for a good Christian book or inspirational movie based on a true story!
Zack: I’ve dropped out of college three times.. I am currently enrolled in a divinity program with Reformed Baptist Seminary; please pray for me.
Taylor: My two favorite snacks are pickles and jalepeño-stuffed green olives. I have these almost every day. Also, my first name is Laura!
Zack: The Bible- I’m serious. “The Pursuit of Holiness” by Jerry Bridges. It’s a tie for American Christians (myself included!) needing to read “Follow Me” by David Platt or “Money, Eternity, and Possessions” by Randy Alcorn.
Taylor: Oh my goodness, such a good question! It’s hard to narrow it down, but currently I would say – “Radical” by David Platt, “Crazy Love” by Francis Chan, and my all-time favorite (a must-read!) “Safely Home” by Randy Alcorn. That last one is actually Christian fiction – so convicting and made me SO excited for Heaven!
Zack: God in His great great grace has moved in the Response to create a biblical church, with biblical elders and biblical members whose aim is to worship the biblical God. This is nothing short of miraculous and rare, and all by His grace, mercy, and love. I am so excited to be a part of His church and to bring others into His church!
Taylor: God has literally changed my life through this church. I am most thankful for the strong biblical teaching and the rich, authentic community. Jesus’ blood has made us family, and I am incredibly excited to keep growing as a church! I’m obviously most stoked about God continuing to grow our children’s ministry. Bring on the families!!!
